Working with Natural Fitness is more than lifting weights. If your goal is to perform better, you will - but you will also learn about living an active lifestyle. You will develop better posture, better balance, better core strength, a better you.
Whether you are a high school or college athlete wanting to improve your performance or a new mom whose back hurts from holding your baby, your program will be unique to you. It will draw on your strengths, improve your weaknesses, always change and always be fun. After evaluating your posture, your current level of performance, and any injuries or special circumstances, we will discuss and help refine your goals. Then we design an individualized fitness plan to match your needs while reaching the goals you want.

Our Trainers
Jon Frothingham
Director of Golf Fitness
Jon received his BA in Psychology from Colby College in 1995. He is certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Personal Trainer and has completed Titleist Performance Institute’s Level 1 & 2 Golf Fitness Instructor courses. Jon grew up competing in and coaching a variety of sports including golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, and sailing. At Colby, he obtained his certification as an Emergency Medical Technician and spent two years as a Student Athletic Trainer, providing all areas of support to Colby’s male and female athletes. Jon has worked in the health and fitness industry for eight years, the past seven in Portland and Falmouth.

Elizabeth Burd
CFI Certified Personal Trainer, Kripalu Yoga
Elizabeth Burd received her Certificate in Fitness Instruction from USM Lifeline in 2003 and her Kripalu yoga certification in 2004. Elizabeth decided to become a yoga teacher and personal trainer to help people enjoy a higher quality of life. She specializes in injury prevention and recovery, as well as,working with people with movement disorders and arthritis. Also, she grew up in Maine dancing and singing and is currently in one local band.

Kyle Perry
ACE- Certified Personal Trainer
Kyle received his BS in Exercise Science from the University of Maine in 2008 and is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer. His experience has helped his clients achieve weight loss, improve flexibility and increase cardiovascular endurance while incorporating their exercise routines into a healthier lifestyle. As a Falmouth native, Kyle is excited to give back to his hometown by improving the health of his community. Kyle is always expanding his knowledge in the exercise physiology field, most recently focusing on Applied Functional Science. In August of 2009, Kyle successfully completed the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) course.

Davis Martin
NASM-Certified Personal Trainer
Davis received his personal training certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in March 2008 and his Mad Dogg Spinning certification in May 2008. Davis has continued his education by attending numerous seminars and studying health and fitness as a lifestyle and discipline. Davis' course-work combined with self study work—enables him to work with individuals of all ages and levels as well as identify asymmetries in their movement abilities before developing their actual fitness programs. His internships, experience, ability to motivate and natural passion for health and fitness has enabled him to successfully train a wide variety of clients—he has worked with weight loss clients, bodybuilders, tri-athletes, runners as well as high school, college and semi-professional athletes. His strong belief in goal setting and progression helps his clients reach their aesthetic goals as well as optimize their performance.
Amber LeVasseur
BA, NASM-certified Personal Trainer, LMT
Amber LeVasseur graduated in 2004 From the University of Maine, Orono, with a Psychology B.A. Since then, Amber has been certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM-CPT). Amber decided to become a personal trainer after years of her own experience exercising in health clubs. Amber enjoys working with and supporting clients that are committed to or looking to start a healthier lifestyle. Amber has also received her Therapeutic Massage License and is very excited to use the knowledge that she has gained through that training to better assist her clients to reach their goals. Amber believes that fitness begins with flexibility and bases her workouts on that premise.

Joseph A. de Silva, BS, FMS
President
BS, FAFS, FMR, FMS
As president of Natural Fitness, Joe has worked as a personal trainer for the past 10 years. He trained throughout Maine at several elite fitness facilities prior to opening Natural Fitness. He received his BS in Physical Education from Saint Joseph's College. Also, in the state of Maine, he is one of the few certified Functional Movement Specialists and is the only Fellow of Applied Functional Science through the Gray Institute. Joe is also an affiliate with True North, a non-profit integrated medical facility located in Falmouth and presents annually at the MAHPERD conference for physical education teachers and coaches.
